IPC Activities in Reception
The children in Reception are studying the topic of Plants and Flowers as part of the International Primary Curriculum. They have been planting seeds and finding out through „hands on‟ activities how plants grow and what a plant needs in order to grow healthily. In addition to this, Dato‟ Dr. Dionysius Sharma, the Executive Director and CEO from WWF Malaysia came in to talk to the children about various types of ecosystems. During his talk, he showed the children lots of pictures of different habitats and what types of wildlife and vegetation grew there. He even brought in a real deer horn for the students to see! This is a typical example of how we encourage our students to learn, through experiential learning whereby they are expected to become active in their learning.
